With a powerful quartet of experienced drivers and the dependable strength of Nissan's flagship GT-R, Falken competed at the Nürburgring from 2001-2005 with the machine, taking on the elements and the excitement of racing approximately 180 laps around the course and twice around the clock.
The Nordschleife stretches out its arms to embrace the magnificence of screaming motorcars as they traverse the 154 turns that make up one lap of the track.
From driver to automaker and sponsor, to tire producer, diversity would seem to be the principal of the 'Ring, as an international blend of dedicated professionals - not only do they display their finest effort possible, what they truly share with each other is the drive to soundly defeat all those against whom they compete.
Alone inside the car during a 24-hour test of stamina, the driver has time to devote their efforts - all expressly focused - on the successful completion of each 12-mile 20.8-kilometer circuit: Was the lap time consistent? Did the downshift on turn 18 allow me to go through the apex sooner? Are my tires maintaining grip? How can I go faster?

By 2004, the Falken R34 GT-R Nür Special had gained improvement based on knowledge, experience, and regulations. It was wider and lower than previous entries, with a notable weight loss of 47 kg; it also received a healthy increase in horsepower, deemed the last criterion needed to reach the podium.

The modifications paid off as the Nür Special, driven by Tetsuya Tanaka, Dirk Schoysman, Takayuki Kinoshita, and Roland Asch, took fifth overall but more significantly, first in the coveted A8 class, averaging 137.009 kph (85 mph).
